The Zaxalon Chessboard Control ("ZCC") is an ActiveX control enabling web site developers to add chessboard capabilities to web pages when viewed with ActiveX capable web browsers, like Microsoft Internet Explorer, running on Windows operating systems (Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, or 2003 Server). The Zaxalon Chessboard Control:

can be incorporated by software developers into computer programs running on Windows platforms, using development environments that support 32-bit ActiveX controls..

Licensing the Zaxalon Chessboard Control
The freeware version of the Zaxalon Chessboard Control may be used or redistributed in any manner you see fit (please see the license agreement below for full details). The licensed version of the control does not have the brief startup graphic message or the right-click solicitation message. It costs $99 to purchase the licensed version, which may be used or redistributed freely per the license agreement below, but only by the licensee, and only in chess-oriented applications, or for chess-oriented content delivery or interactive play from web sites (i.e., not itself as a programming development tool).
Upon receipt of payment, you will be e-mailed the licensed version on the ZCC control. The startup "about" graphic does not appear in licensed versions of the control.

Zaxalon Chessboard Control ("ZCC") Version 1.0 License Agreement:
This is a legal agreement between you, the "end user," and Zaxalon.com ("Zaxalon"). Use of this Zaxalon software (the "SOFTWARE", "ZCC") indicates your acceptance of these terms.
1. GRANT OF LICENSE.
A) FREEWARE VERSION: Zaxalon.com hereby grants you the right to evaluate, use and redistribute the SOFTWARE in both standalone applications and from web sites. You may install the freeware version of the software on an unlimited number of computers, and redistribute the ZCC setup program over the Internet, or via media as part of computer programs you compile, provided your use does not make any attempt to bypass the startup graphic, or to bypass the right-click, menu-launched solicitation message advertising the licensed version. You must distribute the full text of this license agreement in the installation directory of any standalone application utilizing the control, and display this agreement and a link to this web page clearly and easily accessible from any web site from where content is transmitted that is intended for rendering utilizing the control.
B) LICENSED VERSION. Zaxalon.com grants you the right to include the SOFTWARE in any commercial applications that you may create, provided the license fee, of $99, is remitted to Zaxalon.com (see direct purchase links on http://www.zaxalon.com/chessboard.html). Zaxalon.com furthermore grants you the right to re-distribute ZCC to an unlimited number of computer systems from web servers, and to publish content rendered using ZCC and to redistribute the ZCC installation program on an unlimited basis from an unlimited number of servers. You must distribute the full text of this license agreement in the installation directory of any standalone application utilizing the control, and display this agreement and a link to this web page clearly and easily accessible from any web site from where content is transmitted that is intended for rendering utilizing the control.
2. PROPRIETARY RIGHTS. The SOFTWARE is owned exclusively by Zaxalon.com, and this license does not transfer any ownership of the SOFTWARE to you.
3. NON PERMITTED USES. You may not translate, reverse program, disassemble, decompile or otherwise reverse engineer the SOFTWARE.
4. NO WARRANTY. THIS SOFTWARE IS LICENSED TO YOU "AS IS," AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. ZAXALON.COM DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THIS SOFTWARE DOES NOT INFRINGE ANY RIGHTS OF THIRD PARTIES.
5. Limitation of Liability. In no event shall Zaxalon.com's liability related to any of the SOFTWARE exceed the license fees, if any, actually paid by you for the SOFTWARE. Zaxalon shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever arising out of or related to the use of or inability to use the SOFTWARE, including but not limited to direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages.
